Who are Beaufort Lions?

 

We are local citizens who take our motto of WE SERVE seriously.  

 

Our members come from diverse backgrounds and experiences. From our youngest members to our young at heart members, we all work together to provide services to others, here in Beaufort County as well as Statewide and Internationally.

 

Our primary mission is to the help blind or visually impaired,  but we also  contribute to or work in partnership with many other organizations.  

About Lions Club International?

 

The first Lions Club was founded in Chicago in 1917.  

Since 1917 LionClubs International has grown to

over 43,000 clubs with a membership of over

1,435,000 and located in 180 countries,

 

The Start of SC Lions Clubs?

 

Lionism came to South Carolina in Apr 1922.  

 

The first club was chartered in Columbia. Now we have grown to 130 clubs with a  membership of over 6,000.   The Beaufort Club was chartered in 1946 and is still serving the Beaufort Community.
